I was very intrigued from the first time I heard about this book and I preordered it way back in May. This book made me feel so hopeful and happy that I forgave some of its flaws. While it did tackle some serious issues, the overall tone of the book for me was quite light-hearted and it felt very refreshing.

MY THOUGHTSĮverything Everything is a wonderful book about taking risks and living life to its fullest potential. It’s almost certainly going to be a disaster. For example, I am certainly going to fall in love with Olly. Maybe we can’t predict the future, but we can predict some things. He’s tall, lean and wearing all black-black T-shirt, black jeans, black sneakers, and a black knit cap that covers his hair completely. The only people I ever see are my mom and my nurse, Carla.īut then one day, a moving truck arrives next door. I don’t leave my house, have not left my house in seventeen years. I think that this is a great book to read in the current times. My disease is as rare as it is famous. It is a relatively quick read due to its shorter chapters, so if you like shorter stories then this is the book for you! Each chapter is very unique and doesn’t follow the typical format that you would normally see in a standard book, which is what I think made it very interesting and page-turning. Throughout the chapters, there are graphics of emails, websites, and texts that help you better understand the story and enjoy it more. I personally really enjoyed this book and it’s my favourite one that I’ve read. The rest of the story is very entertaining with lots of twists and turns and unexpected moments. Writing on windows, texting… you name it, they tried it. They start interacting in any way possible without Madeline stepping foot out of her house, and they start to fall in love. She never interacts with people from the outside world- but that changes when a moving truck pulls up to the house next door and Olly enters Madeline’s life. She spends most of her time locked in her boring white-walled and white-furniture house, reading books and playing games with her Nurse, Carla. 18-year-old Madeline has an extremely rare condition called Severe Combined Immunodeficiency (SCID) which basically makes her allergic to the world. Well, we have been experiencing the stay-at-home part lately, but Madeline has done it for 17 years. Imagine not being able to leave your house due to a medical condition.
